BEST TIME TO VISIT VIET NAM
New travelers often have many questions and one of them is “when is the best time to visit Vietnam?”. If you’re not entirely sure about the time to go, let us clear your clouded thought by a fact that any time can be a good time to travel to Vietnam. Why? The different weather patterns from the North to the South of Vietnam give each month in the year an advantage. Besides, each vacationer may have different preferences. While some can’t endure the heat, others may detest the rain.
From January to March
Vietnam climate in this time frame is featured with the cool and infrequent light rain in the North, whereas the Centre and the South are characterized by the warmly dry weather. To get the exact temperatures in each destination, you’d better check them online before you move, for example, the temperature in Hanoi and Halong may range between 15 and 22. If guests are about to trek to the northern mountain, remember to bring extra coat to keep warm as the Sa Pa temperature at the beginning of the year can even fall to near zero point. Vietnam houses various interesting festivals held from January to March. Hence, if you love to get immersed to the animated ambiance, join in Lunar New Year Festival, Nui Ba Festival, Lim Festival, etc. Towards March, the weather becomes warmer and the tourism volume due to festivals lessens.
From April to June
Vietnam weather from April to June is uncertain as this time transforms from spring to summer. Anyway, the whole scene can be described with the rising temperature and humidity. The Centre remains wet, while the South is hot and dry. In this period, the Vietnamese seems to less travel because their children are in school. This means foreign tourists have more space to play, if they move to some famous beaches like Halong Bay, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Mui Ne, etc. And if you’d like to join in holiday, visit Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi during April 30th – May 2nd, when the long holiday is celebrated!
From June to Early September
The weather is reported to be wet and hot, but it is the most ideal time for beach holiday with golden sun shining, the typical condition of a tropical area. This period is for busy domestic tours contributed by families, friends, and even solos. This means Vietnam now witnesses a huge volume of domestic tourists, crowding in mountain retreats, beaches, and deltas, for instance, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Sa Pa, Ha Long Bay, Mekong Delta, etc. There are lines-after-lines vacationers, so most of the hotels will be full and the food prices will also increase. Hence, if you visit Vietnam from June to Early September, remember to get things ordered in advance and expect to share your space on some top tourist destinations.
From Mid-September to December
This is the golden time to explore the north of Vietnam thanks to the clear sky and gentle wind. While Hanoi promises to serve you like what Paris does, Sa Pa allows you to perfectly view over the colorful terraced field. The North is now described as ‘romance and peace”. However, in the southern beach, the rains may break your rest or any outdoor activities. Anyway, touring in this time frame helps to avoid the scorching heat.
